Chairing at Czech NTM

Train trips…

So many of them. Always special for me since i am in aiesec. Never went so often on those trips. It’s always the same, i get sentimental. I get into this reflective mood. Because of the fact that usually when i am in a train I am on the way to something in aiesec or on the way back from something. Something special... an election, a conference...

Dont know whether you thought about that... how many reflections happen in trains,
how many thoughts are created in ÖBB trains, or trains abroad... I created a lot of thoughts in ÖBB, in Czech trains, ex-yugoslavian trains, bulgarian busses, spanish busses, italian pendolinos, dutch high speed trains... This time it was my chairing experience in the Czech Republic. I went there due to an invitation of Jarda, the current MCP. I got excited when he approached me at IPM... he told me about this meeting for transition of all local committee executives.
Not a real conference. But would be nice to have a chair – you could share your experiences – and people would be excited to get to know a PAI applicant.

I came there with the aim of making this “meeting” a real “conference”. I didnt go there mainly for reflection, didnt think too much about that. But in the end it was the best reflection exercise I could have had. It brought me away from the current conference stress in Austria. It brought me to deep talks. It brought me to a strong connection with Jarda, a person that I admire for his honesty, simplicity and inspiration. I am happy to have him as my friend... very happy.

AIESEC in the Czech Republic is a role model country. Passion and hard work. It’s amazing how much agenda points happened there. People go to conferences not because the MC is telling to do so but because of their
inner drive. Something that I am sometimes missing at home. Czechs have masses of conferences and are self driven – they want to achieve something and be great. My respect for that....

Charing gave me the chance to share my soul, my thoughts, the things that trigger my thoughts at the moment. It felt good to spread out some of that. It provided me with space to think about myself and the world around me.
I cannot put online everything i did there, but here you go with a small sum up of the things that I enjoyed...

  • the talks with jarda aside the lake, when the fog was coming closer and closer
  • being picked up at the trainstation, getting to know a bit about Czech history and looking at the beautiful city from this one point aside the metro station
  • being alone and czeching out praha
  • watching the water pipe guy dancing the mc role call
  • the reflection and session about leadership in the closing
  • Mr. Pink, Simon Bolivar and the rest of the OC gang
  • a Q&A session at 5 in the morning with one girl that i forgot the name
  • listening to Svetka (hope that i wrote that correctly)
  • playing "turn the lights on" and drinking about 8 different vodka, etc. in 5 minutes at one of the functional tracks during the mcp road show as well as experiencing OGSEX
  • being able to share my thoughts about the world
  • building deep connections with some...
thank you czechs!

Pure joy in me
